Two Years Relaxer Free

On St.Patty's Day I was relaxer free for two years! YEAH BUDDDDY! I love my journey so far and have no regrets. All my mistakes (a little heat damage) has taught me what to avoid and how to treat my hair. To celebrate this milestone I decided to get highlights. My hair is already color treated in a shade of brown. I despise black hair color on me. Lol. I don't know why. I went to a natural hair salon called Mocha Reign. My stylist,Kerri, gave me great service and had me looking fierce. Tell me what you guys think?

YARN TWIST

I wanted to share some pics and my vid of my yarn twist review. I really love them but I am taking them down because I miss my glorious natural hair. I just wanted to try this style out to see if I could do it myself and I was successful. Yarn twist are easier and neater to install than yarn braids to me. I started my twist off as a braid and then twisted them. I used black and brown red heart yarn. NEVER used wool because it can lock in your hair. Yarn does hold moisture so this style is very good for dry hair that need to be well nourished. I will be revisiting this style in the future and making a tutorial video. Hair style of the day : twistout

Here is a picture of my hair style today. I did about 13 medium twist in my hair last night. I used beautiful textures moisturizer and jane carter's nourish and shine. My hair is very soft and feels great. I am turning heads at work. Lol. Toodles.

Viola Davis Natural Hair Exposed!

I was looking on the web today and came across a beautiful picture of actress Viola Davis. She is the actress that recently starred in the movie "The Help". Usually she rocks wigs and hair extensions so I was shocked to see her with her twa. I love it! It makes her look ten year younger and there is just something sexy about being all natural. I think that embracing our kinks and curls gives us a certain power.

Hair health over length

Hello readers. This year I am choosing healthy hair over long hair. Since the beginning of my hair journey in 2009,  I have been seeking long hair. I think in my search for longer hair I started neglecting my hair's health. Yes, my hair did grow but when I look at my ends today I grimace at the state they are in. Not healthy looking at all. So I have decided that in 2012 I am going to focus on healthy hair instead of trying to grow my hair to my butt. I think if I treat my hair with love it will repay me with health growth instead of ugly, split ends. I also am applying this method of thinking to my body. I am not trying to lose weight but be healthier in my lifestyle. I will go on about healthy eating and things but that is a whole different post. lol. Toodles!
